Two Male Deer and a Handful of Ashes
Today I got up just before 7 am after a night of finding it hard to sleep. I went downstairs and started doing stuff on the computer. Later at around 11 am my mum finally got up and I had breakfast. I was then asked to get into clean clothes. We were waiting for our relatives to arrive to drop up some of my recently deceased Nan's belongings. We then went to lunch in the pub. I had fun with my cousin there. I had a sunday lunch type thing with turkey and wiltshire ham....Am I the only person that thinks wiltshire ham tastes like a cheeseburger? It doesn't really matter, I can haz cheezburger anyway. After lunch we got into our cars and went to Pooh Bridge, a place named after Winnie the Pooh that we used to spend lots of time as kids with our Nan at. My brother was feeling ill so he stayed home to play Gears of War 2 on 25 times XP. He's currently boosting. After about a ten minute walk where I was fiddling with big sticks and my cousin got stung by a wasp, and I wrote "THE CAKE IS A LIE!" and "I AM KIRA" in the sand-like ground while waiting for her to be tended to, we finally got to Pooh Bridge. We had to park a bit away from it since the car park for it would be full on a nice sunday. We tried playing Pooh sticks, where you and another person drop a stick on one side of the bridge and wait for it to flow to the other side. It's a race. But there were sticks blocking them and other people having fun on the bridge. Then we went into a field where we found a small pond. Pooh Bridge was where the ashes of my Grandfather had been scattered. We were there to scatter my Nan's along with them. We each grabbed some handfuls of ashes and threw them around the pond. I also threw in an acorn I peeled that I found on the floor, as if it meant something symbolic to me. One of my relatives then pointed out a deer in the distance. I was the last to find it after it was pointed out. It was clearly male by the horns. Then another came along and ran across the field together. After a long trek back to the car I fell asleep on the way home.
